- Runtime Error! MSIEXEC.EXE

My customer had a hard drive crash using Windows 2000 Pro. We upgraded her
to a bigger drive and XP HOME. But both 2000 and XP have this error when she
tries to install any software. (XP was an upgrade).
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
X Runtime Error!
Program C:\winnt\system32\msiexec.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application support team for more information.
The software support says the problem is in Windows. I'm stumped.
