Can you slip SP3 into build 5.1.2600.0 (Gold) or must you slip SP1a or SP2
first?

Thanks

If you read the details of sp3 it states all earlier updates included

But further reading will reveal that you cannot install SP3 onto a
system running Gold, it requires at least SP1.

That said, it may still be possible to slipstream SP3 into a Gold CD. I
have heard anecdotal evidence that it may work, but I've not seen
anything definitive either way.

SP3 can be slipstreamed into any earlier version.

To update an exisitng install to SP3 it must be version SP1a, minimum.
