hi readers,
I have toshiba laptop 4mths old, Came with a recovery
disk ,all the files are zipped . racking my brain ,whats left of it.

Contemplating making a disk ,with the forthcoming SP3, can i use the i386
folder initially. I don't think it would work straight off the

recovery disk. comments appreciated.

No, you cannot use any files from a PC manufacturer's
recovery disk to slipstream a Service Pack.

It depends on what the "recovery disk" consists of.
In the case of my Dell laptop, the "recovery disk" is a
Vista installation disk (not just an image of an installation,
according to Dell tech reps), and if it really is, I should
be able to slipstream Vista's SP1 onto a copy of it.
