sysprep kills power scheme!!!
Posted by lee.james@spartan.ab.ca on October 27th, 2005

This is driving me crazy.

No matter what I do, I cannot get a customized power scheme to 'stick'
after sysprepping a system. It always defaults back to the Home/Office
setting.

I've also tried using powercfg.exe (which works fine manually) to load
and set the scheme by putting it in a cmdlines.txt file in the
c:\sysprep\i386\$OEM$ directory along with the required files. Nothing
works!

And of course there's no entries in Group Policy for this either.

I could use GP to run a batch file everytime a person logs on, but give
me a break!

I can't believe there's no way to do this.

Running XP SP2, Sysprep v2.0

I'n only interested in hearing from anyone that's actually got this to
work.

Thx,

J.

Use the latest version of Sysprep:

Windows XP Service Pack 2 Deployment Tools
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Changes in behavior of the SysPrep and RIPREP tools
after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2

EZ GPO is a free tool for network administrators who manage
Windows client workstations using GPOs under Active Directory.
