- upgrading from XP Pro to XP Media Center Edition
- Posted by Bill on April 7th, 2006
My action pack subscription for XP Pro has expired so I purchased MCE to
convert the system for Media Center activities. Are there any issues with
installing MCE over Pro so that the current applications will be retained?
Will the upgrade install even work or am I forced into a clean install?
Thanks,
Bill

There is no supported upgrade path from Windows XP Pro
to Windows Media Center Edition. A "clean install" is required.
Clean Install Windows XP
