WinXP hangs on bot without ext. USB attached
Posted by JeffB on January 23rd, 2008

Recently cloned WinXP machine, loaded patches, etc. If I remove the
USB drive (ext) the system hangs about the point where the screen
'blanks' before the login screen appears.

If I power down and add the USB drive, it boots fine. WHen USB
attached, I do hear/see it being accessed at the above hang point.

any ideas?

think I tried boot log, but did not see the actual log file gen'd. is
that stored on root of C: as bootlog.txt?
