XP Home missing files problem
Posted by acrs on April 17th, 2006

I have a PC which is loaded with XP Home. This had been having problems and
so I tried running sfc /scannow to make sure all my files were intact. After
a while a window pops up asking me to insert my Windows XP Professional
Service Pack 2 CD as files are missing from the DLL cache.

SP2 CD. Neither of these work and so I can't get the missing files. If I
look under System properties I can see that XP Home is loaded, so why do I
keep getting asked for a Pro CD? and is there anything I can do to fix this?

Thanks.
