- XP PRO UNABLE TO COPY FILES DURING FRESH INSTALL
- Posted by matty_jams on October 31st, 2005
hI,
Can anyone point me in the right direction here ? Am trying to rebuild an
older, p3 (800Mhz) box with XP but no matter what, during the blue screen
file copy part of the install I seem to get "unable-to-copy ...blahblah.DLL,
....skip/retry" messages. (I've tested the original cd and it loads ok onto a
newer spec box no problems.). I've swapped cd-drive/ cables/ memory/ flashed
the bios/ swapped HDD and have run out of idea's. HDD is formatted as NTFS.
If I do manage to get thru the setup and then try loading SP2 I get a
"...file is corrupt.." error part way thru the unpacking files phase.
What am I missing ?
