- XP Upgrade
- Posted by Alan on April 16th, 2006
As a result of a fle being corrupted, I needed to upgrade to XP (Again). I
was afrais that I would loose al my files. I had the installation program
create a c:\windows2 directory, rather than overwriting my c:\windows.
Now my desktop is as if I have nothing installed.
How an I get my old desktop back?
My c:\windows directory, and sub-directory exists.
Thanks

Thats because you installed a 2nd instance of win, instead of repairing

PS You should in any case have had a backup
If this is a frequent occurrence ( you said again) something is either wrong
with your sys or you are using some apps you shouldnt.
