<< Action pack feedback needed - MS Partners please read>>

One of the very nice benefits of being even a “peon” in the Microsoft
partner <http://www.microsoft.com/partner>program [registered and not
even certified or Gold certified] is that you can participate in program
where you get a ton of Microsoft software for a VERY reasonable price.
AND I DO mean a reasonable price. I've heard complaints before of one
issue with this software offer called the Microsoft Action Pack and that
is that the Office media that is included in the action pack does not
have the bits for a group policy administrative install
<http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2003/two/ch3/DepB01.htm>.

Now why is this important? Utilizing the power of group policy to help
manage your desktops is something that we SBSers need to do more of.
It's also a great advantage to sell your customers on the idea of Open
Value/Open Business [remember you only have to order a minimum of 5
licenses to get into the program. AND if you buy Office on Software
Assurance [and yes there's another Office in the works] you get the
ability to have Office 2003 Professional for home use. I've done that
here and it makes my tech support MUCH easier.

It's also important because the Microsoft partner doesn't have the
opportunity to test out the admin install unless you have MOLP or Open
License media. Well as a one time consumer of consultants, one of the
things that would tick me off royally was the idea that the consultants
were “learning on my dime”. Well unless the media in the action pack
includes the administrative bits, you can't practice.

So. We can't do a practice of the admin install. But... I just came
across the email address for feedback regarding the Action pack. If you
want things changed put COMPLAINT in the subject line and it will be
routed for review. Send those emails to Maps-na@microsoft.com
<mailto:Maps-na@microsoft.com>.

So in review... item you want changed in the Action pack? Email them.
Now you don't have to agree with me on the Admin install issue, you can
include what other items that just drive you crazy about the program.
This is our opporunity to make a difference!

Remember to send your feedback....

Subject: COMPLAINT ........

Email it to Maps-na@microsoft.com <mailto:Maps-na@microsoft.com>

And if you don't even know what the Action pack IS!
