Clients cannot access NNTP while server can
Posted by David Beahan on December 23rd, 2003

Since upgrade to SBS2003, using Outlook Express I can connect to news
servers from my SBS server but the network clients cannot. 'server not
found' error.
Where do I look for the problem?

do you have ISA installed on the SBS 2003
if so have you installed the firewall client on the workstations??

ISA is installed and running on the server.
Clients have the firewall client installed and running.
Packet Filtering is enabled and NNTP is allowed.

Does the Firewall Client configuration point to your servername and is
autodiscovery turned off?

Thanks,
Turned off auto-discovery and the problem is resolved.
