- Default website ports and activesync
- Posted by Colin Morrison on March 12th, 2008
I have an sbs2k3 r2 server, which hosts our website. It is in the default
iis site on port 80 with activesync etc. We are bringing up a SharePoint box
that will be used to host a new external company site.
However if i cut over the port mapping of port 80 to the new server,
activesync breaks. I now understand that it uses port 80 unencrypted.
If I switch activesync over to a ssl connection on port 443, is it safe to
change the port of default website in sbs? Activesync and remote web
workplace are the only items published. We also have a ts box, so rww
shouldn't be required.
Thanks
Colin
