Problem with migration upgrade SBS4.5 to SBS2k
Posted by Iain Penman on May 27th, 2004

Hi,
I've performed the ugrade from SBS4.5 to 2k several
times, and each time I find a similar result. I've run
all sorts of abtuse searches through the MS website, but
can't pin down a reason or a solution.

I perform the migration upgrade as per the MS Whitepaper.
As a matter of course, I install the latest service packs
at the earliest possible time during the installation on
the new server.

At the completion of the upgrade, I receive warning
messages from the service control manager. In the event
log, I find that the Microsoft Search service couldn't
start due to event 7023 'The Microsoft Search service
terminated with the following error: The system cannot
find the file specified.'

Has anyone seen this before, or can someone please point
me in the right direction to ressolve it?

All help appreciated!
Regards,
Iain Penman

Here's the slowest response in recorded history, sorry Susan.
Had trouble with my ISP news server for a while and lost track of
the thread ...

It's SBS 2k we're talking about here.
Regards, Iain.
