When my Server 2003 SBS was installed, roaming profiles were installed so
that users could log into any WinXP computer on the network. At that time,
the My Documents target folder location was on the server.
I am now trying to get folder redirection working so that My Documents,
Desktop, and Application Data stays on the server. I change the group polices
to reflect this. However, these folders still get copied to the local
machine. Also, when I log off, any changed files in these folders are deleted
When I log on to an XP computer, my profile including My DOcuments, Desktop
folders are copied to the XP computer. When I change a file in My Documents,
it also changes on the server. But the copy on the XP computer does NOT
change. When I log off from the computer, the files that were on the XP
computer (The ones that have not been changed) are copied back to the server,
deleteing the files that have been changed.
THe group policys appear to be ok when I look at Advanced System Information
policy RSOP.htm
Why are the files that are being redirected being copied to the XP machine?
