- Software Raid1 configuration
- Posted by Benny on December 3rd, 2005
I'll setup SBS 2003 on a new server with 2 identical drives. I need to setup
a raid 1 configuration. After I install SBS, do I need to convert the disk to
dynamic? , the other disk I need to format and changed also to dynamic on
disk management tool?
Is there a resource for step by step configuration? Thanks.

SBS public Newsgroups:
SBS 4.x: microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz
SBS 2000: microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz2000
SBS 2003: microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs
if your current news server does not carry the mentioned groups you should
be able to connect directly to news.microsoft.com
I take it you mean software RAID. If so, leave the 2nd HDD unformatted but
yes you need to convert both to dynamic type.
If you are talking hardware RAID conversion to dynamic is unnecessary.
