I have a Windows 2000 Small Business Server, and a user who is in the domain
running Windows 2000 Professional on a laptop. If they disconnect their
laptop from the network, they cannot log on using cached credentials as
expected, instead they receive the message:
- The system cannot log you on now because the domain XXXX is not available.
In the System event log, the following message is logged:
- System Event log
- Source NETLOGON
- EventID 5719
- No Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller is available for domain
XXXX. The following error occurred:
- There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon
request
I am aware of the registry setting
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current
Version\Winlogon\CachedLogonsCount, and confirm that this is set to 10 on
the laptop PC.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this working?
Many thanks,
Matt
