If you only asked 2 days earlier. in my quest for a good freeware
replacement of an MS Access database i had found servera references to it.
Since I was not interersted in cold fusion, I did not care to bookmark any.
(I had a tot al of 5 hours reading, so I realy can't remember who what where
and when....)

You could try a search for proto nova 1.3.1, but the official site is down,
so you will need to find an other source.

I als want to give you this link:
http://freshmeat.net/browse/230/?orderby=&offset=40
But it is a *Long* list, and with all kinds of software, though also much
web/database oriented... GoodLuck

I know of two such servers which can replace ColdFusion. One is the
IgniteFusion server and the next is the BlueDragon server.
Ignite Fusion is running on Microsoft Windows systems and BlueDragon is
running on Unix systems.
The BlueDragon guys are charging you for their full version but I think they
still have a free version to download.
I am using the IgniteFusion which is free and does not eat all my HardDisk.

Thanks for the info Karl,

I check out BlueDragon and IgniteFusion. I'm running a window based
platform and therefore when with IgniteFusion. Karl, I can't believe
that IgniteFusion's application server is less than 2 MB and their app
server can process CF MX Tags. Really cool!

Thanks very much for pointing me the right direction.

Steve, here are the urls:
IgniteFusion = http://www.IgniteFusion.com
BlueDragon = http://www.newatlanta.com

There are several similar things written in Python, PHP & Java.
(Recent ColdFusion versions are also written in Java IIRC?)

Some of the solutions using Python:
