- Determine date of last hard drive format?

How does one determine the date of last hard drive format?
Is there a program that can do this?
I built my machine in 2000, I believe and I've only done
one complete restore since then. Not sure how long it was
since I did it.

There used to be a website that showed you how to obtain the information
(with a sector editor) but alas I've lost that link since my last restore
myself. :-(

the date of first install, for me this is the last time I installed Windows
which may be close enough for you to determine when you formatted the HD.
Belarc Advisor may give this info too if you're unable to run online tests.

I had this problem, too, and solved it by looking at the properties of
the file named c:\system.1st, date and time. This is the first version
of a registry ever created when installing after formatting, and should
be reliable enough.
