I need some reccomendations on some decent easy freeware solutions in
picture editing software and picture managing software..

I have used Picassa but recently deleted it when I found the secret
stash of database information had grown to 23Mb on my hard drive.
This was *not* in the program folder.
Of course it writes invisible files to folders, so I had quite a time
removing them .
Again a small dos app to the rescue.
