Firefox Problem
Posted by JeffinMS on January 9th, 2007

Im switched to Firefox from IE about 3 weeks ago (After downloading IE7 and
having it cause njumerous problems) and am having problems with Firefox.

1. About 7 out of 10 times Firefox will not display whatever page I am
trying to go to with a warning that there is an error. It doesnt ID the
error.
2. When Firefox fails to show a page, it wont show any pages afterwards and
needs to be shut down. After shutdown if I try to rerun FF or click on a
link in a newsgroup I get the message that Firefox is still running but not
responding and needs to be shut down before it can relaunsh. I then find
that there are no processes that would indicate FF running in the
background.

Any idea whats causing these problems? What might I do to correct them? Im
running FF ver. 2.0.0.1

TIA
Jeff

It's possible that you're experiencing javascript or java-related issues.
I use FF exclusively and have seen similar situations. This is still one
issue in FF that I'm still having problems with.

While I realize it's not the ideal solution, my resolution has been to
utilize one of the IE-related extensions for the browser. I've used
several, settled on IE-Tab:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/

I'm sure everyone has their own resolution but this has been the cleanest
one for me.

You'll be better off here:

mozilla.support.firefox which is on the

news.mozilla.org newsserver.

No log in required. Excellent resource.

You may find Firefox is still running, actually.
I use EndItAll2 to check and or kill processes on Win98 and XP.

Stick with one of the 1.5 versions of FireFox. I tried 2.0 and ended up
going back.
