Multisim is the new name for the Electronics Workbench company.
They produced several versions of Electronics Workbench earlier.
Then they changed the program very much and changed the company name to
Multisim.
The new program had a lot of bugs, and a lot of people preferred the
old Electronics Workbench ver 5c.
Buyers of Multisim demanded, and got for free, a copy of the old
program when they bought Multisims new program.
I don't know how good Multisim is today, if they have fixed all the
bugs in the new program, but a lot of people in the world are still
using the old version Electronics Workbench ver 5c. It is not for sale
anymore but there are lots of copies of it floating around on internet.
That old version has a user interface which no other spice simulator
has ever matched in usability and ease of use. But it is not a
professional grade program.
Professionals today use the Switchercad III spice simulator, because it
is technically very good and reliable. A lot of hobbyists are still
using Electronics Workbench 5c because it has such a natural and easy
to use interface.
There are many other alternatives, and many of them are freeware.
Search for spice simulators.
