Freeware to change icon to every file
Posted by Calep on December 6th, 2003

Hi to all

I saw years ago a little program (I don't know if it was freeware) to
change icon to every file bypassing usual system icons.

There's someone who know something similar ?

Thanks to all in advance.

What works best may depend on your operating system. When I had Winds
98 the free program Dektop Architect did the job. I now have Winds XP
and find "ActiveIcons" is better.

There are a number of these utilities:
Activicons, Desktop Architect and Icon Phile already mentioned.
Others are Change Icon, DeFolder, Folder Description and My File Tracker.

Smallest of these at 12k zip containing 23k dll is "Folder Description" from http://www.geocities.com/vassili_bou...ad/fldrdes.zip

"After you have donwloaded FldrDes.zip, uncompress FldrDes.dll to any folder and execute following command line:
regsvr32 c:\your-folder\fldrdes.dll "

Note source code is also available.
