- Help! Avira Antivir problem
- Posted by FredW on January 4th, 2008
F. Reeware formulated on vrijdag :
To "load" the scheduler it is usually sufficient to restart AntiVir.
The "daily update" works 24 hours after the last update.
I have my AntiVir updates scheduled for every
11:55, 13:55, 15:55, 17:55, 19:55, 21:55
Two procedures for a manual update:
A. Method 1
For manual updates, F9, or
- Update
- Start update (F9)
If you also want to download the updates manually:
B. Method 2
http://www.avira.com/en/pages/index.php
At the right bottom you can see the latest update.
Klick on "more about VDF and IVDF"
http://www.avira.com/en/support/vdf_update.html
"Download IVDF (Unicode)" to a dedicated folder.
Start AntiVir
- Update
- Manual update
- Go to the dedicated folder
- Select the download (ivdf_fusebundle_nt_en.zip)
- Press enter to start the update
Your AntiVir is updated.

After serious thinking F. Reeware wrote :
Do you have any job scheduled?
To make your own update rules:
- Start AntiVir
- View
- Scheduler
- <Ins> (insert new job), or right mouse klick + Insert new job
- Name of job (Update 11:55)
- <Next>
- select "Update job"
- <Next>
- select "Daily"
- set hours and minutes
- <Next>
- <Next> (<Complete>/<Finish>?)
and insert as many jobs as you require (repeat above procedure),
deactivate the "Daily update",
and restart AntiVir.

Thanks for the instructions on making one's own update rules, Fred. I'd
not known how to do that, either.

Kat Mandu expressed precisely :
Glad I could help.
I discovered this "feature" a couple of years ago, almost by accident.
