Input text -> render sheared / deformed version?
Posted by lasitter on July 24th, 2005

Many large commercial (or even freeware) graphics apps let you create
multiple layers, then enter a vector text layer, then apply apply a
variety of shearing or deforming steps to render a graphical
representation of a plain text string.

We see the result most often used in web page challenges, and it can
even be done by java, cgi or other means.

I'm looking for that does the same essential task but is stunningly
simple and a standalone Win32 app. Ideally, it would allow you to
enter a text string in a dialogue box, then hit enter, with the utility
doing default manipulations and displaying the funky text image that
could then be dumped into a file on the desktop or wherever.

Is there anything like this out there? Or is there a web site that I
can visit and enter the string I want to see deformed and have it reply
with the result?

Thanks in advance.
