I'm not aware of any, and I doubt there will be, at least in the near
future. MCE came pre-installed on the box I'm using now that I bought
about 6 months ago. It sounds like a wonderful concept, but as you
scratch below the surface, you quickly realize that it's best suited
as a dedicated hub to an entertainment system that is built around it
from the start. The hardware requirements to take full advantage of
the concept are daunting to say the least. For a brief overview see:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows...Center_Edition

Another observation I would offer is that MCE puts all your eggs in
one basket with limited options. In this area, although it involves
more of a "hands on" approach, you'll get better results that are best
suited to YOUR individual needs by going the "a la carte" route. While
a combination of apps lack a central interface (tied together with an
extra-cost remote control) there is a clear advantage in that you can
usually find freeware with features that are most important to YOU
(and are compatible with the hardware you already own) rather than
settling for a pre-defined way of doing things that can't be
satisfactorily modified or adapted.

Do you know of a 3rd party freeware app that'll let me use the TV /
Radio recievers built into my machine ? (its probably how i should
have worded my question :-)

The software programs I use for raw video came with my burners and
capture card and aren't freeware, but I just checked out Media Player
Classic, and it recognizes my setup under "File > Open Device." Seems
to work really well for playback. Available here and other places:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=82303

(Haven't tried this personally, but I see a lot of people like VLC:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ )

You might really want to "ping" CoMa, though, 'cuz that's really his
area more than anyone else's here. A good site to browse for a lot of
information is http://www.videohelp.com/
