MPEG video editor

I have some MPEG video files, which I need to edit - I only need to trip
off the start and end, to keep the middle part; nothing more fancy

Is there a free tool which I can use?

Hi Andy,

Removing the start & finish sounds so easy. Wish it was.

TMPGEnc is a Freeware program for non-commercial users.
Converts WMV, DVD, or AVI to MPG1 or MPG2 and has some "editing"
features. http://www.doom9.org/ for more info.

Virtual Dub
Best freeware movie editor available for AVI and MPG formats.

Learn how To use it:

MPGTX- Google for the latest version - Joins & Splits MPG files into
playable parts. ie Split into say 10 parts, delete parts 1 and 10 then
join the rest. It all depends . . . . how long is a piece of string?

Cheers,

If all you want to do is cut or append mpeg clips, TMPGenc can do
that.
