- Newbie seeking good free music downloads, just to save to HD

My mate used to have a site, and i got some good music from his, some mp3
songs, i know nothing 'bout pooters, and i heard i have to watch out 4
spyware from some, but i will deal with this, So can anyone advise me wgere
i can get a wide Range, say stuff like Nirvana,Cilis,Floyd,Smiths,StoneRoses
or will it all be on 1 site, like some big site..hope some1 can help, and
please tell me if i need to scan it or run a spyware test after
downloading...
I have winME and i have no ReWriter or Mp3 player, i will just save 'em to
HD, and put 'em in mediaPlayer playlist..

Go to www.winmx.com and download the mp3 sharing software.
Then search for the songs you want and download them.
Works very well for me.
