I've been looking for several years now for a way to do multilingual
searches on the WEB, but no luck yet. I recently searched google on
"multilingual search", and got exactly one hit - "altavista", which
is a joke.

Part of the problem is undoubtedly the difficulty of phrasing the
problem in a way a search engine can understand. Web pages typically
offer to translate text to English for the visitor, but I've yet to
see or hear of a search site that offer so translated the SEARCH TERMS
coherently into another language or languages.

What I want to do is to compose a search in English, run it, and then
have the option to run the same search in say, French, Spanish, and
German. Even if the program simply provided some tentative
translations of the search terms in the requested target languages,
this would be a great help,especially if the program had enough
intelligence to understand the context.
