I'm looking for a much more powerful replacement context menu editor /
context menu manager myself. I downloaded the following to try, but I
haven't had a chance to put them through their paces.
ShellExView - Manage COM objects
CMenuExtender - Context Menu Editor
Fast Explorer - Context Menu Editor
Perfect Menu - 30 day trial
I found a number of other possibilities via a search. Please let us
know what works for you.

John C.,
Thank you so much for pointing that out. <sarcasm absolutely
dripping>
If I didn't think the answer was relevant within the context I would
not have posted it. I am aware that your view is that any mention of
a non-narrowly defined freeware product is anathama to you. I shall
assume your needless comment as a given from now on to any post of
mine that I think you might think transgresses. Unneeded comments
such as that make this a less than friendly ng.

The OP said, and I quote, "Any freeware alternatives?" I didn't see
any mention of wanting a 30 day trialware solution. And yes, whenever
I see any mention of a non-freeware solution in this group you can
count on my pointing out that it's off topic. I'm absolutely not alone
in doing this.
Why don't you try going to a Catholic group, start blathering on
about Hebrew traditions and see what kind of a reaction you get? Being
off topic in ANY group will get you flamed.

John C.,
First, don't quote out of context in order to misrepresent. The OP
specifically cited PC Mag utilities as an acceptable alternative.
Those are not freeware in the purist sense that you use.
I recently took Andy Mabbitt to task for not giving you the benefit of
the doubt. Perhaps I was too hasty. I am having a hard time not
assuming that you deliberately and knowingly chose this reprehensible
rhetorical technique since you so recently accused Andy (in still
another thread) of being a troll and somewhat speciously cited
specific related techniques.
Furthermore, I offered freeware (your definition) alternatives
(AFAIK), stated the limits of my experience, and then carefully cited
the limitation of the one line you find objectionable. I did not
misrepresent it. The OP is free to take it or leave it.
I don't want to continue a flame war but I so am offended by your
reply here and elsewhere that I can't help myself. Your category of
analogy, religious bigotry, is apt even though the analogy itself is
fatally flawed.
This ng is oriented toward freeware as you define it, however far from
everyone agrees that the mere mention of alternatives within context
is anathema. My impression is that you and a few others have
bludgeoned most into acquiescence -- or chased them away. Your rude
zealotry has certainly reinforced my impression that this ng is not an
enjoyable, welcoming group. I have failed to stay in the past and you
may well succeed in driving me away this time as well.
Returning to your diatribe, my reply was not a matter of "going to a
Catholic group, start blathering on about Hebrew traditions and see
what kind of a reaction you get". First, in context, that would be an
entirely appropriate topic. I'm not Catholic, but I have been to
Protestant religious meetings at more than one church where Hebrew
traditions were discussed with respect and recognition that they
affected and continue to affect our traditions.
Second, this forum (used in a loose generic sense) is not a closed
meeting and most definitely is neither a catechism class nor a Mass.
You are not the Pope or a Cardinal. If you want that, then I suggest
you host a strictly moderated board. This forum is more akin to the
chess playing area in a public park where people drop in to play chess
and kibbitz. The mere mention of go does not result in someone
jumping in your face and saying "Shut up. Don't ever mention go
here." (Unless of course you denigrate it.)
I wish this ng did _not_ somewhat resemble an anti-war (or pro) rally
with several forums where a band of zealots shout down and otherwise
heckle anti-war speakers whose views differ in the slightest from
their own. (I suppose you think of me as a pro-war heckler at an
anti-war rally, but to each his own).

You're right. They did say that and I missed it. PC Mag stuff is not
freeware anymore. However, trialware is still off topic in this group
and of course, that's not what was asked for. Go ahead and promote
it if you like, but it's still off topic. You'll only wind up getting
killfiled by many. I'm not telling you not to talk about whatever you
want. Read my post. I said, and I quote, "But trialware is *not*
freeware. This group is for the discussion of freeware only." Perhaps
I could have said "*supposed to be* for the discussion of freeware
only." My semantical mistake. Apologies.
