- Scandisk substitute
- Posted by BrianE on May 24th, 2004
I'm having probs with my PC and scandisk just keeps restarting ad
infinitum.
Is there a freeware alternative to scandisk - perhaps something a bit
more powerful?

Thanks Riz. I've done this but the scandisk took around 10 hours on the
thorough setting (overnight). Is this normal?

If the problem is "restarts" in Windows 98, 98SE or ME,
get ScanDefrag and run it in Normal Mode.

For problems, switch to Restrictive Mode and compare
the log against the protected processes in the Readme.
