- Security boot-cd
- Posted by Thore on January 19th, 2007
Hi...
For a long time I've installed (from a bootable CD) several PC's with:
Salamander Commander
AVG 7.5 (earlier 7.1)
Kerio 2.1.5
SpywareBlaster
My CD is bootable with a small menu (cdstarter from Wentnet)
I've made it with 5 buttons and I can press 1 button at a time and
install the programs 1 by 1. It's been working for some months - no
problem... but I would like it to be more automatic.
Each of the mentioned programs ask a lot of q's each time...
Is there a simple way to make a .bat file (*) or similar and let these
programs be installed quietly?
AVG installed in C:\Program Files\AVG
Kerio in C:\Program Files\Kerio
....
....and so on?
Something like: "Press the key to completely install the "Security
Package - In the mean time go make some coffee..
"
It would be nice..
(*) Iv'e found out, that a bat-file is the only way (with CDSTARTER
anyway) I've tried to edit the cdstarter.ini to include more than one
installer.exe in 1 "button", but that's impossible (as I see it)...

Wouldn't that be sweet? From what I gather, you're talking about
"unattended installation." That is, all necessary user input is
referenced in a file of some kind during install, rendering the install
"silent."
Check out <www.appdeploy.com/>. Especially

forums may be a good idea...seems moderately active.
Let us know how it goes!
