- time and date stamp a video file?

I have a camcorder that uses those Dv mini tapes. I use Movie Maker to
encode the movie to the computer. I would like to add/embed the time
and date stamps onto the movies. Is there a freeware program that will
allow me to do that?

Into the video itself or the file name?

never tried a date stamp myself.
Try the scripts at
http://mvideo.ddpp.net/eng/downloads.htm
and if you are not familiar with avisynth, all the info is at
http://www.avisynth.org/
which seems to be down at the moment, but keep trying.
Warning - there is a bit of a learning curve.
One way of using an avisynth script is with Super(c)
http://www.erightsoft.com/home.html
which will accept a script and do the processing.
