Mini-review: :-)
I took a quick look at the windows version. It's n- install. Lets you
start and stop a timer, and enter a description of the task, and
assign it to a project. You enter the project names.
The app shows as a small window, with an edit box for the description
filling most of the space. You can re-size the window, but everything
grows larger or smaller, including the font size, so you don't get any
more space for entering stuff than you had before.
You can go back and edit a previous task, changing the description or
duration. But you cannot change the project it was assigned to. There
is no way to create a "time slip" for a task that you performed away
from your comuter by just entering the start and stop times -- you
cannot enter a task without starting the timer and stopping it.
Unusual interface. For example, on the edit screen, where you choose
the task to edit, to change which project you are looking at you click
on the current project label. It works like a pull-down (combo-box),
but you'd never guess from looking at it, it looks just like a label.
There's no menu bar across the top. You click on a "menu" button to
get a pull-down (actually pull-up) menu.
Rough around the edges. Click Menu/New to get to a screen where you
enter a new project name. The cursor isn't automatically positioned
into the edit box where you type the project name, so you must
manually click there before typing. Then, pressing enter doesn't
execute the OK button, you have to explicitly click the button.
Bottom line -- it works, but is very simple. Too simple for my tastes,
I want a time-tracker to be efficient to use. But it might be
acceptable if your requirements are very light.
