- Activating silent mode in Seagate 160 Sata drive

Hi there,
Can anybody tell me if there is a workaround or firmware available to
activate AAM or just to change the drive to silent mode as opposed to
Performance?
My new SATA drive's noise when seeking is just too annoying.
Any help will eb appreciated...
