By a new hard drive.

Death of a hard drive.

If the data is of high value, you should use a professional recovery
service. You'd better be sitting down when you see the price.

If you cant afford that, it may be possible to recover the data
by swapping the logic card from an IDENTICAL hard drive.

Trying in a different computer makes it very likely that
the problem is with the drive.

Simple: Get a new drive and restore your backup.

Failing the availability of a current backup, I would recomend
using a professional data recovery service. This sounds like
it is a serious problem and it could be a number of different
things. If you mess around with the drive yourself, the chances
are good that you make professional recovery far more expensive
or impossible.

Oh look, a stinking OdiFerous sockpuppet.

Hi, Duncan. Business slow? Must be: Joepie is here too!

Folkert,

I suggest you tread very, very carefully in future before you press the
"send" button if your message contains any reference to me or my
business.

Take this as a "friendly" warning against possible legal action.

Perhaps, if you have nothing constructive to add to any threads, you
should consider keeping it schtumm.

I have no "sockpuppets" as you so incorrectly imply. You are the only
person on usenet I have ever come across with a negative attitude
towards me and my business. Do your own research.
