Coolmax External Drive AC Adapter?
Posted by NF on September 21st, 2003

Hi, I have a Coolmax HD-227 external firewire/usb drive. I need to find the
adapter to supply more power for the usb connections, but I can't find any
documentation on what kind of AC adapter I need or where to get it.

TIA!

Nelson,

I have the HD-227 USB 2.0 only version. You need a 5 volt (regulated)
adapter with a 1.3mm ID coax power plug. It should have a current rating of
around 1 amp.

Actually, I don't use an adapter; I use the PS2 keyboard power tap instead.
I find it easier to carry the extra cable instead of an adapter.

Regards,
Eric

Eric,
Thanks for the info, at least I know what I'm looking for now. The power tap
sounds like a good alternative. Thanks again!
