- Drive Not Recognized After Win2000 Install
- Posted by JV on December 15th, 2004
I just finished formatting my C: drive and installing Windows 2000.
Now, my second hard drive, (formerly labeled D: ), is not detected,
(does not show up in the list of available drives when I doubleclick
"My Computer")
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
JV

5. Right click on the "invisible" drive (= partition)
6. Select "Change drive letter or path", click on "Edit" and reassign it a

Thanks for your reply, Michael.
I did what you suggested, but upon entering "Disk Management", I see no
"invisible" drive. All I see are the boot disk and the CD drive.
BTW, I found out that when I boot into Windows 98, the drive is
recognized, but not, alas, in Windows 2000.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Findpart? Is that an ap? A utility built into Windows 2000?
Could you give me a little more info on this?
Thanks.
