Firewire - Tech Support

Firewire: Posted by Pat on April 20th, 2006; I have 2 identical external firewire drives running of a notebook (Dell
Precision M70). I want to be able to daisy chain them into a single
port. But when I connect them both, they both drop out. I can connect
them separately but not together.
I am running XP Pro SP2.
The firewire port runs of a PCMCIA card.

Bus powerd or self powerd? If bus-powerd (no PSU per device),
maybe they just overload the bus.
