- Non-Dell brand HD on lattitude XPi CD mmx???

hi,
After upgraded BIOS to ver. C03 and running dell diagnostics, diag reports
bad sector 0. when i opened
the computer the HD was a IBM OEM DLGA 23080 made for apple! it says
Internal HDD firmware for apple computers. can this work?!? tried to install
linux redhat and it went fine but win98 wont install...
scandisk dont even report bad sector...any suggestions?
