- Putting a partioned HDD in an external case
- Posted by b.coolsaet@gmail.com on June 21st, 2006
Hi,
I need to connect my desktop's HDD with my laptop through an external
USB case. The HDD already has 7 partitions. My question is: is it
possible to let Windows display the different partions (like it would
be done when connecting the HDD internaly with IDE) or will it only be
dispayed as one Mass Storage Device ?
Thx

If windows can access the external device, it should show up as
a set of partition, just like if it was mounted internally.

Yes.
No, you will still see the partitions on that drive.
