Nope, not if you plan to run a single OS on it.
The main exception would be if you want to be super cautious
and ghost your boot partition before installing anything at all,
just so you can step back easily if things go pear shaped.
Lot to be said for a single partition on the new drive with files
that are likely to be quite large when you do that sort of thing.
