Are there USB 2.0 hubs?
Posted by Ken Williams on November 25th, 2003

I have an older USB hub that works fine and all I got like 3 years ago for my
older laptop with usb 1.1. Now I got a newer laptop with usb 2.0 and was
wondering if its recommended to get a USB 2.0 hub? Do usb 2.0 hubs exist? or
are they all the same?

Yep.

Yep.

Nope.

If you only have a single usb 2 device and multiple usb 1.1
devices, you should keep the existing hub for the 1.1 devices
and use any usb 2 devices on their own hub or get a fancy
hub that can handle both speeds.

You only need USB 2 high speed hub if you want to connect high speed (480
Mbps) devices through it.

If you only have one USB 2 device, nope. Just plug that into notebook, and
everything else into hub.
