Too much to ask

My first dive into NAS was a Netgear SC101.... says no more.

My needs recently have changed..

I have a Macbook pro with OS X on it and another laptop with Vista on
it. After a few day struggling with them I've finally got them to see
each other over a wirless network.

What I would like is to plug a Ethernet storage device into my router
for these two laptops to share data - simply. A USB port on the NAS
device would be handy to make a backup of the NAS device to take off
site. 250gb+ would be nice. It will only be used for sharing small
files - no large video or audio.

Looked at various devices from LaCie, Buffalo, etc. All seem to have
reported problems with Vista, or they don't mention use with OS X.

I DON'T want to go down the road of building a PC to run as a file
server, etc.

Any suggestions, Thanks

Clive

There are quite a few similar options from different manufacturers...
