Sorry complete newbe question. I have a sony vgx xl 100, connecting to my old
tv using a component 2 scart lead. I get as far as the windows logos when the
screen starts to skip( multiple lines scrolling up the screen, as if the
refresh rate is completely wrong) . I have set it up so that it goes straight
into media center but after 3 hours of trying different config and searching
the net I am a bit stuck.

Try setting up so that you don't go straight into MCE, then check your TV
Tuner is configured to recieve PAL TV signals, sounds like it might be set to
NTSC signals (U.S.) which would cause horizontal lines to scroll on a PAL
set. Do you have the same problem using a monitor?
