Channel 5 (Channel five) analogue Issue - Final resolution

It seems that for many of us the Guide refuses to accept that Channel 5 is
broadcast in London on analogue Channel 37 and although you can add it
manually you can't assign the correct guide to it so you get no listings.

Here is the work around:

Go back in and set everything up manually. When asked if you want to use the
Guide say no. Let it seek tune through the channels and add them all. Then
save. None of them will be properly named, but now you go in to:

settings / tv /guide / add listing to channel

And then add the correct listing to the correct channel

Later (or even before the last step) you can put your channels in the
correct order and also untick the odd ones it has picked up.

Umm:

AFAIK, if you said not to use the guide, this option won't even be
available, because there aren't any listings available.

The intended procedure is to set up the guide data, and pick an "unmapped"
option after you entered your postal code. The "unmapped" options do not
contain any information which frequency each station is on and trigger an
analog channel scan in which Media Center tries to identify each station by
the information transmitted in its Teletext data. Since that does not work
right for all stations, you can then use the "Add listings to channel"
option to associate the correct EPG listings with channels which Media
Center couldn't identify.

The unmapped option does not do as you suggest over here in the UK. The
procedure is exactly as described in my original post.
