MCE 2005 remote control
Posted by aviator on February 20th, 2006

p have just purchased the Microsoft remote control for the MCE 2005 PC I just
built.
It installed and works just fine.
However the hardware came with two additional long cables that terminate at
one end in an infra red sensor and in the other a 3mm mono plug.
There appear to be two sockets at the back of the USB detector for these
cables to plug into...but what do they do??? I thought perhaos they extended
the coverage but they dont seem to work in that way.
Help please!!

They are IR blasters, and if you connect a cable receiver or satellite
receiver box to your MCE PC, they will change the channel for you on the
receiver.
