- No EPG data after installing new TV Card?
- Posted by Dan P on April 19th, 2006
Hi,
Just installed a new Digital Dual TV Card from Terratec, but I can't get any
guide information?
It worked fine with my old single tuner card and there are no error codes
and MCE seems to download normally, but when I try to view the guide it says
'No data available' for every channel!
I've reinstalled all the drivers etc and the manuf cannot help as they say
it must be a software issue, but it's funny that there is no porblems with my
old card?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as what's the point of
investing in a dual tuner card if you cannot schedule recordings via the EPG!
Many thanks,
Dan

New Card: Terratec Cinergy 2400i, PCIe

Also checked the line-up in 'edit channels' and there appears to be over 200
channels found!
If I select the other channels - the guide info appears? However, it would
take hours to select and rearrange all the channels which have appropriate
guide data!
Why do you think MCE is not assigning guide data to the appropriate
channels? I'm using my correct postal code and my regional settings are
correct.
e.g. guide data says 'BBC1' only and no data is displayed, but if select
'BBC North West' from the edit channels menu - the data is displayed.
What's going on?? Do Microsoft actually test new hardware for compatability
before they stick the 'desgned for Media Centre' sticker on the box?
Again, any advice would be much appreciated.

*Sigh* - it happens - all too often!
I don't think it's a problem with the hardware - just the EPG data.
In some situations the guide gets corrupted and the only way around it
seems to be to delete the guide directory and do the whole TV setup
again. You could try this:
Close MCE, delete (or rename) the EPG directory (Documents and
Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\eHome\EPG ) and re-run
the TV setup in MCE.
