- 'No TV Signal' errors
- Posted by Dan R on February 18th, 2006
Hello
I am using two Avermedia A800 USB2.0 DVB-T tuners, and have a very
frustrating problem! Media Center 2005 keeps giving me 'No TV Signal' errors
on certain UK channels (ITV1,2,3,4 Channel 4/5 for example), at random times.
If I disconnect the DVB-T cards, reboot, re-run the MCE TV Signal Setup
wizard again (not the guide bit, just the card detection), everything works
again. And then after about 5-6 hours (and some recording I guess) I loose
the ability to view some channels. It's not the signal, because if I go
through the process I've described, everything is fine again. Whats
happening??!
Thanks,
Dan

It's a multiplex issue.
I've no experiance of that brand, but changing MUX
usually cures the very specific problem you detail.
Though I do not how to on that brand, this is normally
within the software's configuration settings, and it is
adviseable to use Avermedia's dedicated software
rather than the fickle and limited MCE. (Also, as an
added bonus. Avermedia hardware can be configured
with a phoenix interface card reader and some freeware
- joshyfun, to receive TUTV - cannot be done with MCE.)
This is their site, and it's not that impressive! No dedicated
forums and seemingly no easy access to FAQ?

These are forum's where you may find other Aver' users
who have sorted the multiplex issue. (It's a software issue
and just involve's reconfiguring to capture "good" MUX
for your location)

Good luck

"MUX" = multiplex
