Poor TV Picture Quality
Posted by David Lee on April 4th, 2006

I have upgraded from an ATi Rage Fury Pro 128Mb graphics card to a G-Force
6200XFX 256Mb, partly because MCE stated that my graphics card was below the
minimum spec and also because the picture quality on the TV was so awful.

I no longer get the below minimum spec error message, but the picture
quality is still really bad.

I am connecting using s video as the TV is too old (Sony 28") to have any
other connection type (except scart).

Any ideas how I can improve the picture quality?

David,

Have you emliminated the problem being with your PC/Graphics card? i.e.
have you tried connection to a monitor via VGA/DVI?

S-video is not the best of choices for connection, however, the picture
should not be as bad as you are describing.

Hi Dan,

Yes I have connected a monitor both before the upgrade and after and there
was a significant improvement to the picture quality with the new card, but
not on the TV.
