I have successfully connected my xbox360 to my media center via a direct lan
connection without problem..

in trying to replace the direct connection with a wireless lan gives "cannot
find computer" :-(

the wireless lan works fine when connecting to xbox live, so it would appear
that the networking adaptor and modem are talking ok

i have dropped the firewall on the media center but this does not help

any clues as to how i can get out of this dilemma would be appreciated

Please update your netgear router to the latest firmware.
Review the netgear router firewall settings, port forwarding or UPNP.
